Manuel Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Braulio Berasko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 6th minute Arturo Flores shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eurico Figueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Cordarrell's late challenge caught a Gremio Viana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Cordarrell helped the player get up and apologised. After 17 played minutes C. A. Atlanta got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Cordarrell. 22 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goal looked a bit too open when Federico Martxelin came free, but Eurico Figueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivan Oalo during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Federico Martxelin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Gremio Viana booed when C. A. Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Flores didn't get a good kick on the ball. Braulio Berasko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filipe Quinaz in the 37th minute of the match. Braulio Berasko came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Gremio Viana's Manuel Fernandes. But to his dismay, Manuel Fernandes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Adélio Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manuel Fernandes was the one to do the kick off. Eurico Figueira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arturo Flores went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 63rd minute, Miguel Cordarrell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atlanta's Braulio Berasko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filipe Quinaz in the 65th minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eurico Figueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 75th minute Miguel Cordarrell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eurico Figueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in C. A. Atlanta's zone, Adélio Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Braulio Berasko came out of the goal and Adélio Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 83 minutes of play, Gremio Viana's Filipe Quinaz made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Braulio Berasko was left in no man's land by his defense there! Miguel Cordarrell kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Manuel Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braulio Berasko having to interfere. Nicasio Primeiro's late challenge caught a Gremio Viana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicasio Primeiro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th minute, Nicasio Primeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ivan Oalo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 97 minutes had been played. In the 97th match minute, C. A. Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Oalo to maneuver through the defense. Gremio Viana walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
