Rogério Ceni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sjors Kolkman in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Divina Comédia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bjorn Veltman came free, but Rogério Ceni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th match minute, The Underdogs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chuck Wood to maneuver through the defense. Sjors Kolkman might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rogério Ceni. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sjors Kolkman ran back to his position shaking his head. After 15 played minutes Divina Comédia FC got a freekick which was hit by José Paulo Negri. The supporters of Divina Comédia FC booed when The Underdogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carsten van Wonderen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Divina Comédia FC's Rogério Ceni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carsten van Wonderen in the 19th minute of play. Carsten van Wonderen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogério Ceni having to interfere. Dieguinho de Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes Divina Comédia FC got a freekick which was hit by Dieguinho de Almeida. Cristiano Furtado charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristiano Furtado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Divina Comédia FC's Cristiano Furtado got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Rogério Ceni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carsten van Wonderen in the 34th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the game, Carsten van Wonderen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rogério Ceni was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Divina Comédia FC's Rogério Ceni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carsten van Wonderen in the 42nd minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, The Underdogs's Carsten van Wonderen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rogério Ceni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After the first half The Underdogs were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carsten van Wonderen made a kick off. In the 51st minute, The Underdogs's Pieter Bos seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Pieter Bos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of The Underdogs protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Pieter Bos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Divina Comédia FC booed when The Underdogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pieter Bos didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Váldson Lopes in the 53rd minute of play forced The Underdogs's goalkeeper Dirk-Jan Akkerman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 60 minutes of play Divina Comédia FC's Cristiano Furtado was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Divina Comédia FC's Cristiano Furtado got a free kick in the 62nd minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched The Underdogs eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
