Cesinha Galvão who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Luís Maia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

In the 50th match minute, OS IMPOSSIVEIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Mazza to maneuver through the defense. When Elder Guedes fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's protests and gave Elder Guedes a yellow card for diving instead. Elder Guedes hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Manuel Mendonça might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kaká Reis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Maia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. OS IMPOSSIVEIS fully deserved thier win.
