The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Lidon Bengoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Donatello Barajo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Club Dep. Soc. Rodo from getting a goal against them. Gabriel Gay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Donatello Barajo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Furman Masas during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Furman Masas kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Donatello Barajo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Amenedo in the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th minute of the match, Lidon Bengoa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Donatello Barajo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bela Gayoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Donatello Barajo made a huge save. Donatello Barajo was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Martin Amenedo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Martin Amenedo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goalkeeper Donatello Barajo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lidon Bengoa. The crowd rose to their feet as Chivos de Punto Fijo's Gabriel Gay slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Donatello Barajo. That made the score 2-0 after 25 minutes of play. Laurentzi Hontoria hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute Martin Amenedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donatello Barajo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Lidon Bengoa scored to the left of an out of position Donatello Barajo, making the score, 3-0. Bela Gayoso kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Adalberto Pedroso kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Vidal Ximeno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Martin Pasqua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute of the match, Martin Amenedo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Donatello Barajo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

56 minutes into the game, Chivos de Punto Fijo's Martin Amenedo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donatello Barajo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 62nd minute of the match, Ipar Monzonis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Martin Pasqua saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Donatello Barajo came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Chivos de Punto Fijo's Lidon Bengoa. But to his dismay, Lidon Bengoa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Donatello Barajo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lidon Bengoa in the 74th minute of the match. Donatello Barajo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bela Gayoso went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Chivos de Punto Fijo's Ilazki Zumalburu was substituted for Paulino Alfebra. Chivos de Punto Fijo made a substitution. Jeronimo Corrales replaced Gabriel Gay. In the 80th match minute, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vidal Ximeno to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the game, Martin Amenedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Donatello Barajo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lidon Bengoa in the 88th minute of play forced Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goalkeeper Donatello Barajo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Martin Amenedo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donatello Barajo. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martin Amenedo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. When the referee ended the match the Chivos de Punto Fijo players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
