Ipar Monzonis started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, Gabriel Gay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 5 minutes into the match, Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Martin Pasqua had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ipar Monzonis. In the 6th minute, Martin Amenedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Blas Bolaños fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's protests and gave Blas Bolaños a yellow card for diving instead. After 7 played minutes Club Dep. Soc. Rodo got a freekick which was hit by Blas Bolaños. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bela Gayoso during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Mero Barbadillo got a free kick in the 11th minute. Juan-Carlos Otero charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan-Carlos Otero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th match minute, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan-Carlos Otero to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Club Dep. Soc. Rodo booed when Chivos de Punto Fijo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adalberto Pedroso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 19 minutes, Paulino Alfebra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chivos de Punto Fijo and the Club Dep. Soc. Rodo players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Chivos de Punto Fijo getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Paulino Alfebra hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Amenedo in the 28th minute of play forced Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goalkeeper Donatello Barajo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donatello Barajo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lidon Bengoa, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Gabriel Gay had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donatello Barajo. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gabriel Gay was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Iyan Bolaños kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the game, Martin Amenedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Donatello Barajo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Club Dep. Soc. Rodo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Chivos de Punto Fijo were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabriel Gay to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Gay in the 52nd minute of play forced Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goalkeeper Donatello Barajo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Club Dep. Soc. Rodo defense, Bela Gayoso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donatello Barajo. The Club Dep. Soc. Rodo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donatello Barajo should have stopped the shot. 59 minutes into the match, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Amenedo came free, but Donatello Barajo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 61 minutes, Gabriel Gay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chivos de Punto Fijo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Gay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Gabriel Gay scored to the left of an out of position Donatello Barajo, making the score, 0-5. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Donatello Barajo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Amenedo in the 65th minute of play. Lidon Bengoa's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Donatello Barajo firmly grabbed it by the left post. 68 minutes into the match, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Gay came free, but Donatello Barajo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 75 minutes, Martin Amenedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chivos de Punto Fijo and the Club Dep. Soc. Rodo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Martin Pasqua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan-Carlos Otero, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Donatello Barajo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bela Gayoso in the 84th minute. A collision led to Chivos de Punto Fijo getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Bela Gayoso hit a great ball. Martin Pasqua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ipar Monzonis, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The supporters of Club Dep. Soc. Rodo booed when Chivos de Punto Fijo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilazki Zumalburu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donatello Barajo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeronimo Corrales in the 93rd minute of play. Vidal Ximeno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
