Comunardo Longo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonides Lermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Bruno Rossetti notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of A.D. Alcorcón's Sergi Sabina. Sergi Sabina was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 26 minutes into the game, Ofelio Arraz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Comunardo Longo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, A.D. Alcorcón's Calisto Feliu got a free kick in the 33rd minute. 41 minutes into the match, Narciso Jareño had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Comunardo Longo. Fiume Veneto's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Narciso Jareño was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. When Claudio Fantasia fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fiume Veneto's protests and gave Claudio Fantasia a yellow card for diving instead. Claudio Fantasia hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Natal Laredo to strike the kick off in the second half. Natal Laredo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-5 in the 51st playminute. In the 58th minute, Claudio Papetti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the A.D. Alcorcón defense, Claudio Papetti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sergi Sabina. The A.D. Alcorcón fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sergi Sabina should have stopped the shot. In the 66th minute, Emilio Esposito left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fiume Veneto fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-5. 70 minutes into the match, A.D. Alcorcón's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Papetti came free, but Sergi Sabina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Comunardo Longo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Natal Laredo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-6 in the 72 minute of play. Bruno Rossetti scored 4-6 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sergi Sabina, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 78 minutes, Bernardo Spano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fiume Veneto and the A.D. Alcorcón players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bernardo Spano kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Claudio Papetti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sergi Sabina was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-6. A.D. Alcorcón were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
