If Marquinhos Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovanni Lopes in the 23rd minute of play forced Hvam FC's goalkeeper Habakkuk Given to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute of the match Diego Arantes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Habakkuk Given skillfully saved the ball. Elder Catarinense kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. The supporters of Hvam FC booed when São Paulo da Floresta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseu Mangueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Carlos Fernando Almeida successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 47 played minutes São Paulo da Floresta got a freekick which was hit by Jefferson Mazza. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frede Raunsholm to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Geovanni Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. São Paulo da Floresta's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovanni Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Habakkuk Given breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Fernando Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berthold Sibbern in the 63rd minute of play. The supporters of Hvam FC booed when São Paulo da Floresta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jefferson Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. São Paulo da Floresta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hvam FC the free kick. A collision led to São Paulo da Floresta getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Elder Catarinense hit a great ball. Habakkuk Given showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caco Falcão in the 94th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Hvam FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
