Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Barry Geurtsen started the match with the kick off. Mário Quirino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinhard Braamhaar in the 4th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's goal looked a bit too open when Válbson Brasil came free, but Olivier Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barry Geurtsen might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mário Quirino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Barry Geurtsen ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 14th match minute, Estrela Solitária was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Váldson Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Leon Reiling in the 15th minute really tested Mário Quirino's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 16th minute Enio Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olivier Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olivier Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorginho Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Mário Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barry Geurtsen in the 19th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Válbson Brasil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mário Quirino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Barry Geurtsen in the 26th minute. In the 26th match minute, Estrela Solitária was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Váldson Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. When Jorginho Maia came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Estrela Solitária fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorginho Maia couldn't finish the play. Válbson Brasil took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Olivier Kahn. Olivier Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Alagoano in the 37th minute of play forced Lemel SV's goalkeeper Olivier Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olivier Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enio Travassos, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. If Francisco Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorginho Maia was the one to do the kick off. Válbson Brasil hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Enio Travassos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Enio Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olivier Kahn having to interfere. A collision led to Lemel SV getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Gabriele Batistuta hit a great ball. Olivier Kahn was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Enio Travassos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 70 minute of play. After 82 played minutes Lemel SV got a freekick which was hit by Reinhard Braamhaar. In the 86th minute, Estrela Solitária's Francisco Alagoano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Olivier Kahn. Olivier Kahn yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. When Válbson Brasil came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Estrela Solitária fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válbson Brasil couldn't finish the play. Olivier Kahn made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Jorginho Maia sent off a good shot on target. The Lemel SV fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Estrela Solitária were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
