After a rather tough play, Viseu United's Sidónio Carreira got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 8th minute, Matías de Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Veiga in the 10th minute of play forced S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Figueiredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's João Francisco Domingues got a free kick in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Viseu United's Valdemar Morais broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. A collision led to S.C. Corinthians Paulista getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Frank dos Santos hit a great ball. Matías de Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Branco having to interfere. After 20 played minutes Viseu United got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Flores. Luiz Fernando Figueiredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Veiga in the 23rd minute of play. After 23 minutes, Cleiton Pernambucano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.C. Corinthians Paulista and the Viseu United players grew even worse after the yellow card. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Luiz Fernando Figueiredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Veiga in the 24th minute of play. In the 30th minute Valdemar Morais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Matías de Moraes to make the kick off. When Olavo Delgado came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Viseu United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olavo Delgado couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Viseu United getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Rui Veiga hit a great ball. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Paulo Alagoano got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd minute Adalberto Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rui Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 67th match minute, Viseu United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdemar Morais to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the S.C. Corinthians Paulista defense, Valdemar Morais kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luiz Fernando Figueiredo. The S.C. Corinthians Paulista fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luiz Fernando Figueiredo should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Valdemar Morais managed to get in a good position for a shot. Viseu United's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdemar Morais was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fernando Figueiredo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Norberto Flores sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 80 minutes into the match, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Figueiredo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valdemar Morais. António Branco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matías de Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. When the final whistle sounded Viseu United left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than S.C. Corinthians Paulista.
