Romão Miranda started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Patrício Poças cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Filomeno Perrando was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 6 minutes into the game, Garanhão do SUL's Romão Miranda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Filomeno Perrando made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. If Romão Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvério Sabrosa struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Filomeno Perrando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garanhão do SUL. After a rather tough play, Garanhão do SUL's Artur Curado got a free kick in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romão Miranda in the 18th minute of play forced Q. T. I.'s goalkeeper Filomeno Perrando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Romão Miranda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 32 minutes, Silvério Sabrosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garanhão do SUL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvério Sabrosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Raimundo Delgado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rodrigo Cruz went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Artur Curado kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jaime Abar was the one to do the kick off. Silvério Sabrosa charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silvério Sabrosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Silvério Sabrosa kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 62nd match minute, Garanhão do SUL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvério Sabrosa to maneuver through the defense. Gaston Stanislao hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 68th match minute, Garanhão do SUL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Figo to maneuver through the defense. The referee felt a red card was in order, 71 minutes into the game, when Gonzalo Quiroga put in a rough tackle. Q. T. I.:s Filomeno Perrando showed great skill when he stopped Romão Miranda:s penalty. In the 74th minute Romão Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filomeno Perrando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Q. T. I.'s Filomeno Perrando proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Q. T. I. from getting a goal against them. Filomeno Perrando was a little too slow when Álvaro Calçada got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 77th minute. The score was now 1-5. Jacinto Cidro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Figo kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Garanhão do SUL's Raimundo Delgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Abar in the 84th minute of play. Álvaro Calçada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Filomeno Perrando made a huge save. Filomeno Perrando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silvério Sabrosa in the 96th minute. After a rather tough play, Garanhão do SUL's Luís Figo got a free kick in the 97th minute.
