Emil Rosén charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emil Rosén the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 4 played minutes Hartlepool got a freekick which was hit by Emil Rosén. 6 minutes into the game, Arne Hellström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hartlepool's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A.F Cuervos Azulgranas the free kick. Arne Hellström kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Birger Hedman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Godfredo Marcones's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Apolo Elivareo hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Jose Vitin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fred Dalgren in the 14th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Hartlepool's Arne Hellström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jose Vitin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ingvar Sundström got free with Jose Vitin in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Fred Dalgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Godfredo Marcones in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Birger Hedman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A.F Cuervos Azulgranas's Jose Vitin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save A.F Cuervos Azulgranas from getting a goal against them. In the 43rd play minute Fred Dalgren came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jose Vitin. 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ingvar Sundström was the one to do the kick off. Fred Dalgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Jose Vitin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fred Dalgren struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Jose Vitin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hartlepool. Jose Vitin came out of the goal and Fred Dalgren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hartlepool's Fred Dalgren got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ingvar Sundström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fred Dalgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Vitin having to interfere. Ingvar Sundström struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Jose Vitin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hartlepool. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rikard Hake during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 94 played minutes Hartlepool got a freekick which was hit by Rikard Hake. There was no doubt that Hartlepool were the better team. Hartlepool's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
