Jerzy Duszenski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeferson Goiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After 31 minutes of play, SE Palmeiras's Agostinho Tepedino made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jerzy Duszenski was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Christiano Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jeferson Goiano might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jerzy Duszenski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeferson Goiano ran back to his position shaking his head. After 42 played minutes FA Sandtown got a freekick which was hit by Zbyszek Zahemski. Jerzy Duszenski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeferson Goiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After 46 minutes, Jeferson Goiano made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. FA Sandtown's Jerzy Duszenski tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half SE Palmeiras were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Perivaldo Salles helped the player get up and apologised. The referee gave FA Sandtown a penalty, 94 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lucjan Serwach, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SE Palmeiras's Nilson Dracena. 2-2.
