After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Ian Cerezo managed to get in a good position for a shot. SE Palmeiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Ian Cerezo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ladislao Videl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Victor Theobald's late challenge caught a SE Palmeiras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victor Theobald helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to DON RAMON 72 getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Victor Theobald hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute Basílio do Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ladislao Videl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nilson Dracena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin Lizardi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
