Rômulo Coelho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 18th match minute, FA Sandtown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucjan Topolski to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Alberto Palmeira got free with Michal Zdeb in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 22 minutes into the match, Lunáticos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ryszard Gecionis came free, but Durvalino Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Lunáticos FC booed when FA Sandtown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryszard Gecionis didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Fábio de Medeiros during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Ryszard Gecionis came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the FA Sandtown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ryszard Gecionis couldn't finish the play. Durvalino Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ryszard Gecionis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ryszard Gecionis was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Rômulo Coelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lunáticos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rômulo Coelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 54 minutes into the match, Edu Camargo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Michal Zdeb. FA Sandtown's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edu Camargo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. After a defensive mix-up in Lunáticos FC's zone, Ryszard Gecionis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Durvalino Donatello came out of the goal and Ryszard Gecionis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Michal Zdeb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anísio da Mata, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After 61 played minutes FA Sandtown got a freekick which was hit by Lucjan Serwach. After a rather tough play, FA Sandtown's Lucjan Topolski got a free kick in the 64th minute. Edu Camargo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 65th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. With his leg Durvalino Donatello managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when FA Sandtown's Ryszard Gecionis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of FA Sandtown booed when Lunáticos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fábio de Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th minute of the match Wladyslaw Poniewaz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Durvalino Donatello skillfully saved the ball. During the 88th minute of the match Ryszard Gecionis completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ryszard Gecionis a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Lunáticos FC booed when FA Sandtown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryszard Gecionis didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to FA Sandtown getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Wladyslaw Poniewaz hit a great ball. After 95 played minutes, Lunáticos FC's Edu Camargo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Michal Zdeb came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lunáticos FC reached it. In the 97th minute, Edu Camargo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Michal Zdeb was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. There was no doubt that Lunáticos FC were the better team. Lunáticos FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
