The referee ignored U. de Tarapacá's protests and gave Bartolomé Romero a yellow card for diving instead. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kostas Tziolas to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Olympiacos FC booed when U. de Tarapacá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Irisarri didn't get a good kick on the ball.
