U. de Tarapacá's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miren Guilisasti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 45 minutes into the match, U. de Tarapacá's goal looked a bit too open when Atauri Sanabria came free, but Elton Tin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elton Tin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Uxio Illanes in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Atauri Sanabria to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee gave Elvis Nieto a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. U. de Tarapacá had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
