Norberto Mero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Cayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as La MaKina del Parque's Pastor Cayo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Norberto Mero. That made the score 1-0 after 38 minutes of play. The ROSARIO CENTRAL F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Silvio Cesario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
