In the 2nd minute, Risto Mäkinen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Filipe Cruz. The goal made the score 1-0. 6 minutes into the game, Geovânio Torres cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Niilo Myötänen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcel Schmidt's late challenge caught a Savon Palloseura's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcel Schmidt helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th minute, Otso Ranne ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Filipe Cruz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ferreira Lopes MZC! Savon Palloseura's Niilo Myötänen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovânio Torres in the 24th minute of play. Niilo Myötänen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlos Alberto Novaes went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. 38 minutes into the game, Leonel Brasil was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ferreira Lopes MZC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Savon Palloseura the free kick. After 39 played minutes Ferreira Lopes MZC got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Brasil. A collision led to Savon Palloseura getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Risto Mäkinen hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The wind increased when Otso Ranne made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Otso Ranne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Filipe Cruz was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. Sami Nutikka hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. When Mané Araújo came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Ferreira Lopes MZC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mané Araújo couldn't finish the play. Filipe Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Risto Mäkinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Olli-Pekka Bruun hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Risto Mäkinen struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Filipe Cruz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Savon Palloseura. After a rather tough play, Savon Palloseura's Risto Mäkinen got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Niilo Myötänen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duarte Prata in the 74th minute of play. Savon Palloseura's Otso Ranne got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th minute, Viljami Rajamäki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niilo Myötänen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guilherme Cruz in the 85th minute. Risto Mäkinen charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Risto Mäkinen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 91 played minutes Savon Palloseura got a freekick which was hit by Risto Mäkinen. Olli-Pekka Bruun kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The Savon Palloseura support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
