After a defensive mix-up in Salud y República's zone, Elias Puutio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvino Galnares came out of the goal and Elias Puutio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luis-Miguel Jubera hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute, Otso Ranne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 12th minute, Savon Palloseura's Elias Puutio seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Elias Puutio the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Savon Palloseura protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Elias Puutio had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Savon Palloseura getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vesa Markkanen couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andoitz Talavera was the one to do the kick off. The Salud y República fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 61 minutes into the match, Savon Palloseura's goalkeeper Niilo Vähäsavo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Uriel Solo. Niilo Vähäsavo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osoro Raya, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute.
