Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 5 minutes into the match, Deportivo Qhapaq Ñan's goalkeeper Fernando Collantes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Apolo Ramos. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Constantino Senen during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 6th minute, Constantino Senen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th minute Frantxizko Millares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florencio Jaen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frantxizko Millares scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Florencio Jaen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Carolo Abaurre blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fernando Collantes having to make a save. Christobal Riazos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Florencio Jaen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artemio Hegoi in the 31st minute of play forced Deportivo Qhapaq Ñan's goalkeeper Fernando Collantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niolaao Cigüenza kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Artemio Hegoi struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Fernando Collantes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club El Progreso. In the 39th minute, Artemio Hegoi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fernando Collantes. The goal made the score 1-1. Club El Progreso's Artemio Hegoi got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fernando Collantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomero Salomon in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

If Artemio Hegoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Apolo Ramos notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Deportivo Qhapaq Ñan's Fernando Collantes. Fernando Collantes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 73rd minute, Artemio Hegoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fernando Collantes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Guerau, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 84th minute, Celio Vilardell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 87 minutes of play, Club El Progreso's Apolo Ramos made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fernando Collantes was left in no man's land by his defense there! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Club El Progreso fully deserved thier win.
