The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 minutes, Bo Wikander mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hockeysnubbarnas BK and the Brugge United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th minute, Bo Wikander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 6 played minutes, Brugge United's Nicolaas Deschrijver shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Egon Eliasson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Brugge United reached it. After 7 played minutes Brugge United got a freekick which was hit by Janes Goons. After having played for 11 minutes, Jochen Diericx managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brugge United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jochen Diericx was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Brugge United's Christian Meys in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Egon Eliasson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 32 minutes, Douglas Isebergh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brugge United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Douglas Isebergh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Brugge United's Christian Meys sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Egon Eliasson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Egon Eliasson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jochen Diericx in the 40th minute of the match. The supporters of Brugge United booed when Hockeysnubbarnas BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pål Håkansson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Jochen Diericx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egon Eliasson having to interfere. Egon Eliasson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jochen Diericx in the 80th minute of the match. Pål Håkansson's late challenge caught a Brugge United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pål Håkansson helped the player get up and apologised. Egon Eliasson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christian Meys's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. After having played for 89 minutes, Douglas Isebergh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brugge United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Douglas Isebergh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tjorven Jaddon kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Brugge United were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
