After 11 played minutes Mercado Paulista F.C got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Burni. In the 12th minute Stig-Inge Njærheim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaias Quirze saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mercado Paulista F.C's Israel Santo got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Audun Østenstad dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Isaias Quirze, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Audun Østenstad in the 22nd minute of play forced Mercado Paulista F.C's goalkeeper Isaias Quirze to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fredrik Ophus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Israel Santo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Preben Fonnes took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Isaias Quirze to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Mercado Paulista F.C's Isaias Quirze got control of the ball when Audun Østenstad tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

FRANK's Fredrik Ophus proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save FRANK from getting a goal against them. In the 82nd minute, Stig-Inge Njærheim made a precise shot to the right of Isaias Quirze. Mercado Paulista F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-1.
