The referee felt a red card was in order, 13 minutes into the game, when Rogério Onofre put in a rough tackle. Maurício Mansilha charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Angélico Vaz's late challenge caught a Liverpool FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Liverpool FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
