The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eugène Guiguet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Constantino Elija tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felix Dhondt during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 7th minute Andres Peru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anthony Vaissière saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Mathieu Autin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 12 played minutes, Yalapa's Leandro Urbes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anthony Vaissière came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Yalapa reached it. 13 minutes into the match, Stade Ygossais's goal looked a bit too open when Luisito Atauri came free, but Anthony Vaissière reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Stade Ygossais's Eugène Guiguet slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Constantino Elija. That made the score 1-0 after 15 minutes of play. Yalapa's Constantino Elija played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Loche in the 23rd minute of play. Luisito Atauri struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Anthony Vaissière didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yalapa. Pedro Urbasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anthony Vaissière having to interfere. In the 39th minute Andres Peru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anthony Vaissière saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Stade Ygossais's Eugène Guiguet dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eugène Guiguet to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Yalapa getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Aurelio Aztore hit a great ball. After having played for 58 minutes, Diego Loche managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stade Ygossais's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Loche was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geoffrey Gand in the 63rd minute of play forced Yalapa's goalkeeper Constantino Elija to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Constantino Elija showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugène Guiguet in the 68th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Diego Loche made a precise shot to the right of Constantino Elija. Yalapa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Yalapa's Constantino Elija played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Loche in the 78th minute of play. Leonides Gutxi was shown his second yellow card after 79 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugène Guiguet in the 84th minute of play forced Yalapa's goalkeeper Constantino Elija to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 minutes, Leandro Urbes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yalapa and the Stade Ygossais players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leandro Urbes kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. If Luciano Salvino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Stade Ygossais's Mathieu Autin got a free kick in the 94th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Stade Ygossais fans cheered their team off the field, for while Yalapa had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
