The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Karlo Gavilanes took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stasio Rozanski. Stasio Rozanski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Universitario's Guillen Mijangos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hieronim Brudnicki in the 11th minute of play. The Universitario fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Universitario's Argi Rionda looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Universitario's Guillen Mijangos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Universitario from getting a goal against them. After 20 minutes, Maciej Kaminski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BYDGOSTIA and the Universitario players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 22 played minutes BYDGOSTIA got a freekick which was hit by Maciej Kaminski. Guillen Mijangos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hieronim Brudnicki showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 24 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in BYDGOSTIA's zone, Erasto Tella stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stasio Rozanski came out of the goal and Erasto Tella tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vidal Cantabrana in the 37th minute of play forced BYDGOSTIA's goalkeeper Stasio Rozanski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Universitario's Guillen Mijangos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Universitario from getting a goal against them. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vidal Cantabrana made a kick off. Gizon Alaiza hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. When Franciszek Wierzcholek came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the BYDGOSTIA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franciszek Wierzcholek couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Universitario's zone, Hieronim Brudnicki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guillen Mijangos came out of the goal and Hieronim Brudnicki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of BYDGOSTIA booed when Universitario was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasto Tella didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute, BYDGOSTIA's Radomil Kaczynski seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Radomil Kaczynski the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of BYDGOSTIA protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Radomil Kaczynski had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, BYDGOSTIA's Radomil Kaczynski got a free kick in the 77th minute. BYDGOSTIA made a substitution. Przemyslaw Polakowski replaced Hieronim Brudnicki. BYDGOSTIA's Wincenty Dankowski was substituted for Stefan Hludzenski. BYDGOSTIA's Cyprian Filipowski was substituted for Sylwester Sierocki. In the 79th match minute, BYDGOSTIA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radomil Kaczynski to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Universitario getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Gaizka Torrascasana hit a great ball. Cyprian Filipowski took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guillen Mijangos. Guillen Mijangos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Wincenty Dankowski struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Guillen Mijangos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BYDGOSTIA. Edwardo Ruete hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match.
