In the 9th minute Marioara Birligea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. -BZF- Petrolul Berca's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. New England Minas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 20th minute, Ayrton Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute, New England Minas's Dwayne Clement ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nistor Arjoca. Nistor Arjoca yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 29 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Almăgean came free, but João Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
