When Ingvar Nordanger fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AEK FC's protests and gave Ingvar Nordanger a yellow card for diving instead. Ingvar Nordanger hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. A nice corner shot did that Svetlin Pazvantov got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ole Lorentzen quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When AEK FC's Chris Bjørsvik in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye VN Keleler's goalie prevented a goal. 8 minutes into the game, Rostislav Mazakov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VN Keleler's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AEK FC the free kick. AEK FC's Ole Lorentzen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save AEK FC from getting a goal against them. If Martin Hansen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Svetlin Pazvantov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Ole Lorentzen made a huge save. Angel Vardarov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, AEK FC's Åge Undheim got a free kick in the 28th minute. Rostislav Mazakov got his second yellow card in the match during the 46th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Martin Hansen made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Vardarov in the 55th minute of play forced AEK FC's goalkeeper Ole Lorentzen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Lyubcho Ruychev successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Svetlin Pazvantov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the match, VN Keleler's goalkeeper Lyubcho Ruychev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Åge Undheim. A collision led to VN Keleler getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Sergey Munev hit a great ball. A collision led to VN Keleler getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Angel Vardarov hit a great ball. Ole Lorentzen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Svetlin Pazvantov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Svetlin Pazvantov came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the VN Keleler fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Svetlin Pazvantov couldn't finish the play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
