After having played for 6 minutes, Erivaldo Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erivaldo Paraibano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Camilo Urtsua struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Kléber Schmidt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ripa FC. The supporters of Ripa FC booed when Coritiba Foot Ball Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Délio Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Ripa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Goiano came free, but Simon Martxelin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Camilo Urtsua received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kléber Schmidt came out and tried to block the shot, but Camilo Urtsua slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 25th minute. Ripa FC's Simon Martxelin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder de Carvalho in the 33rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Luis Celio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ripa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Celio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kléber Schmidt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ripa FC's Simon Martxelin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Goiano in the 40th minute of play. After 40 played minutes Ripa FC got a freekick which was hit by Serafin Tiadoro. After some careless play in the Coritiba Foot Ball Club defense, Camilo Urtsua kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kléber Schmidt. The Coritiba Foot Ball Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kléber Schmidt should have stopped the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Délio Alvarenga was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Camilo Urtsua put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Kléber Schmidt. In the 58th match minute, Coritiba Foot Ball Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélder de Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. Camilo Urtsua might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kléber Schmidt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Camilo Urtsua ran back to his position shaking his head. 71 minutes into the game, Luis Celio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Kléber Schmidt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 74 minutes into the match, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Délio Alvarenga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Simon Martxelin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carmelo Jeraldo kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Erivaldo Paraibano got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Ripa FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Luis Celio hit a great ball. Carmelo Jeraldo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 95 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute, one of Ripa FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ripa FC. When the match had been going on for 98 minutes, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Edu Alcântara got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Simon Martxelin.
