The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of The Nerd Herd booed when Astreix&ObelixSoccer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Buckler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trygve Løvlie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Marek Hewitt made a huge save. Barry Brent was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 18 minutes into the match. Astreix&ObelixSoccer:s Marek Hewitt showed great skill when he stopped Ask Myren:s penalty. A collision led to Astreix&ObelixSoccer getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Jay Willmott hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Trygve Løvlie kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marek Hewitt. That made the score 1-0 in the 21 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Astreix&ObelixSoccer's zone, Trygve Løvlie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marek Hewitt came out of the goal and Trygve Løvlie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dagfinn Ringvold during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Astreix&ObelixSoccer booed when The Nerd Herd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagfinn Ringvold didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Astreix&ObelixSoccer getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Rodd Sharpe hit a great ball. Marek Hewitt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trygve Løvlie in the 38th minute of play. Rodd Sharpe got a throw-in 41 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Daniel Kaye. In the 44th minute Trygve Løvlie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marek Hewitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Trygve Løvlie came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the The Nerd Herd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trygve Løvlie couldn't finish the play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ola Nysted stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Phil Dove came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Astreix&ObelixSoccer fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phil Dove couldn't finish the play. Marek Hewitt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ola Nysted in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Stu Bowler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ola Nysted fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Astreix&ObelixSoccer's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romeo Cartwright was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marek Hewitt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trygve Løvlie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute, Trygve Løvlie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 93 minutes of play, The Nerd Herd's Trygve Løvlie made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marek Hewitt was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. The Nerd Herd had won after a very even match.
