But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Battal Cüneyt Zahir couldn't finish the play. Inter de São Paulo's Gilmar Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Battal Cüneyt Zahir in the 37th minute of play. Hüsrev Can made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 74 minutes into the match, Inter de São Paulo's goal looked a bit too open when Zikri Öğün came free, but Gilmar Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 77 minutes, Gilmar Paraíba successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
