Hüsmen Soyurgal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Amaral having to interfere. 15 minutes into the game, İsmail Hakkı Mahşer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ivo Amaral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. istanbulls's Hüsrev Can proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save istanbulls from getting a goal against them. Luís Guilherme Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hüsrev Can having to interfere. After some careless play in the Real Cruzeiro FC defense, Ant Sabancı kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivo Amaral. The Real Cruzeiro FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivo Amaral should have stopped the shot. Ronaldo Vianna took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hüsrev Can. Hüsrev Can dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Ivo Amaral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Battal Cüneyt Zahir's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Luís Guilherme Cabral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hüsrev Can read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. After having played for 34 minutes, Gonçalo Sarmento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Cruzeiro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonçalo Sarmento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Júnior Salles kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Luís Guilherme Cabral who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Hüsrev Can when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ziya Serkut sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Battal Cüneyt Zahir fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Amaral having to interfere. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 60th minute Ant Sabancı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Battal Cüneyt Zahir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Ivo Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of istanbulls booed when Real Cruzeiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júnior Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ant Sabancı came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the istanbulls fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ant Sabancı couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Real Cruzeiro FC's Belmiro Urbano got a free kick in the 91st minute.
