In the 5th minute Witomir Marchlewicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Joost Smeekes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Hugon Nocny notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Seagulls's Jan-Joost Smeekes. Jan-Joost Smeekes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ksawery Winszman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Jan-Joost Smeekes made a huge save. If Carsten Klaasens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th match minute, Seagulls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Meindert Popping to maneuver through the defense. Jan-Joost Smeekes made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Hugon Nocny sent off a good shot on target. Jan-Joost Smeekes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugon Nocny, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carsten Klaasens during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ksawery Winszman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Jan-Joost Smeekes made a huge save. 43 minutes into the match, Witomir Marchlewicz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jan-Joost Smeekes. Seagulls's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Witomir Marchlewicz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wilco Owusu Abeyie was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Seagulls's goal looked a bit too open when Hugon Nocny came free, but Jan-Joost Smeekes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Seagulls getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Jan Harmens hit a great ball. Jan-Joost Smeekes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Witomir Marchlewicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Popken in the 62nd minute of play forced Ekipa Damcia's goalkeeper Kazimierz Terasek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ekipa Damcia's Kazimierz Terasek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Schröer in the 96th minute of play. There was no doubt that Ekipa Damcia were the better team. Ekipa Damcia's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
