The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norberto Medardo during the 2nd minute. After 3 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Valio Sammalkangas. After a defensive mix-up in Black Rose 1979's zone, Ylermi Glad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zacarias Abreu came out of the goal and Ylermi Glad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valio Sammalkangas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zacarias Abreu having to interfere. Leo Vidal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Saul Väänänen made a huge save. 14 minutes into the game, Maximiliano Dalmu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Black Rose 1979's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester United FC the free kick. After 15 played minutes Black Rose 1979 got a freekick which was hit by Maximiliano Dalmu. In the 21st minute, Black Rose 1979's Celedonio Iraitz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Celedonio Iraitz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Black Rose 1979 protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Celedonio Iraitz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of Black Rose 1979:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Manchester United FC:s goal. Saul Väänänen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leo Vidal in the 29th minute. Valio Sammalkangas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Zacarias Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leo Vidal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Black Rose 1979's Abel Ler got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After 44 minutes of play, Manchester United FC's Reima Ruuttu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zacarias Abreu was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Black Rose 1979's Norberto Medardo got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half Manchester United FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

63 minutes into the game, Valio Sammalkangas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zacarias Abreu. Valio Sammalkangas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Black Rose 1979's Zacarias Abreu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Black Rose 1979 from getting a goal against them. Zacarias Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Taavetti Valkealahti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Norberto Medardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrian Reno during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Adrian Reno kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Rigoberto Tello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Black Rose 1979's Norberto Medardo got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Manchester United FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
