The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, GREEN LIONS's Panagiotis Maragos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antônio Ferreira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Otávio Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theofanis Tseberlidis having to interfere. After 8th play minutes Délio Coelho shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Theofanis Tseberlidis and just under the crossbar into goal. The supporters of Clube Atl. Taquaritinga booed when GREEN LIONS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonis Karapialis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th match minute, GREEN LIONS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Seremetiadis to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panagiotis Maragos in the 16th minute of play forced Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Antônio Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 18 played minutes Clube Atl. Taquaritinga got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Andrade. After 19 played minutes, GREEN LIONS's Ilias Tsaris shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Antônio Ferreira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in GREEN LIONS reached it. When Panagiotis Maragos fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GREEN LIONS's protests and gave Panagiotis Maragos a yellow card for diving instead. Panagiotis Maragos hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. When Cafu de Amorim fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's protests and gave Cafu de Amorim a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Cafu de Amorim got a free kick in the 24th minute. Soulis Zacharas kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 31st play minute Humberto Andrade came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Theofanis Tseberlidis. 2-1. Antônio Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valerios Melogiannis in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute Grigoris Bertsis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Humberto Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Theofanis Tseberlidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute Humberto Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theofanis Tseberlidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Panagiotis Maragos made the kick off in the second half. Theofanis Tseberlidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlinhos Baiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Panagiotis Maragos in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antônio Ferreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Antônio Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valerios Melogiannis in the 59th minute of play. A collision led to Clube Atl. Taquaritinga getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Anselmo Pimenta hit a great ball. Antônio Ferreira was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Andreas Seremetiadis. Antônio Ferreira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valerios Melogiannis in the 63rd minute. Antônio Ferreira was a little too slow when Valerios Melogiannis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 2-2. The supporters of Clube Atl. Taquaritinga booed when GREEN LIONS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alekos Niniadis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Humberto Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's supporters rose to their feet, but Humberto Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Theofanis Tseberlidis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Antônio Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valerios Melogiannis in the 73rd minute of play. When Grigoris Bertsis fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GREEN LIONS's protests and gave Grigoris Bertsis a yellow card for diving instead. In the 76th minute, Grigoris Bertsis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antonis Karapialis kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 79th minute Humberto Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theofanis Tseberlidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Theofanis Tseberlidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otávio Peixoto in the 80th minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Grigoris Bertsis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Antônio Ferreira, 2-3. Carlinhos Baiano kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. When Panagiotis Maragos came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the GREEN LIONS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Panagiotis Maragos couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Valerios Melogiannis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Antônio Ferreira. That made the score 2-4 in the 92 minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. GREEN LIONS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
