The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Carpathians's Stelian Panaitoiu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Stelian Panaitoiu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Carpathians protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Stelian Panaitoiu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 3 minutes into the game, one of Carpathians:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 5th minute, Claes Hermansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lokomotivet Kamraterna fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Dorin Petrică made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Wikander in the 9th minute of play. Silviu Drăgoescu tried in the game's 11th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Dorin Petrică. An annoying self made goal, 2-0. Dorin Petrică made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Wikander in the 14th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Carpathians's Iustinian Tutuianu got a free kick in the 15th minute. Dorin Petrică showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fredrik Wallander in the 17th minute of the match. When Herbert Ek fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lokomotivet Kamraterna's protests and gave Herbert Ek a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Carpathians booed when Lokomotivet Kamraterna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herbert Ek didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Carpathians's Dorin Petrică got control of the ball when Dick Tunström tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lokomotivet Kamraterna's Kristian Bern played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucian Giurgiu in the 27th minute of play. A collision led to Carpathians getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Pavel Bara hit a great ball. Dorin Petrică took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claes Hermansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fredrik Wallander received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dorin Petrică came out and tried to block the shot, but Fredrik Wallander slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 31st minute. Herbert Ek hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute of the match Pavel Bara shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kristian Bern showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

The wind increased when Dan Wikander made the kick off in the second half. Lokomotivet Kamraterna's defense didn't have a chance, in the 58th minute, when Constantin Cârstea scored to the left of an out of position Kristian Bern, making the score, 3-2. When Valentin Sjödin came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Lokomotivet Kamraterna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentin Sjödin couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Carpathians booed when Lokomotivet Kamraterna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filiph Walroth didn't get a good kick on the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Lokomotivet Kamraterna's goal looked a bit too open when Iustinian Tutuianu came free, but Kristian Bern reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dorin Petrică showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fredrik Wallander, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Carpathians's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Wikander came free, but Dorin Petrică reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. During the 77th minute of the match Herbert Ek completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Herbert Ek a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Carpathians booed when Lokomotivet Kamraterna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herbert Ek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carpathians's Costel Junilă was substituted for Marin Marinică. Carpathians's Gavril Gurlui was substituted for Constantin Cârstea. After 79 played minutes Lokomotivet Kamraterna got a freekick which was hit by Herbert Ek. The long shot by Pavel Bara in the 80th minute really tested Kristian Bern's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Jimmie Sundberg charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jimmie Sundberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Carpathians's Ivan Niculcea got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Valentin Sjödin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dorin Petrică. Carpathians's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dorin Petrică made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Wikander in the 96th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Lokomotivet Kamraterna had won after a very even match.
