After a defensive mix-up in FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's zone, Valdemar Figueiredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nechifor Oargă came out of the goal and Valdemar Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alin Feroiu got free with Hermínio Barros in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 8th minute, Gavril Niculiță ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hermínio Barros was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The supporters of Noia booed when FC UNIREA Alba Iulia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gigi Câmpeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Cătălin Amuguroancei got a free kick in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Guilherme Brodel in the 24th minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Nechifor Oargă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar Figueiredo came free, but Nechifor Oargă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guto Veloso hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vitório Simão to strike the kick off in the second half. Hermínio Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavril Niculiță in the 61st minute of play. When Vitório Simão came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Noia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vitório Simão couldn't finish the play. Nechifor Oargă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Nechifor Oargă made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vitório Simão in the 74th minute. 74 minutes into the game, Cătălin Amuguroancei was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Noia the free kick. In the 75th match minute, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cătălin Amuguroancei to maneuver through the defense. Noia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cazimir Iorgovan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Gigi Câmpeanu scored 3-1 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hermínio Barros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Silvério Cardoso took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Nechifor Oargă to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia had won after a very even match.
