When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Costel Dorineanu sped through SAO JOANENSE FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of José do Vale. 13 minutes into the game, FC Buzău's Costel Dorineanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José do Vale made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Narcis Săndulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José do Vale having to interfere. When Costel Dorineanu fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Buzău's protests and gave Costel Dorineanu a yellow card for diving instead. José do Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Costel Dorineanu's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Narcis Săndulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José do Vale having to interfere. 24 minutes into the game, SAO JOANENSE FC's Wiliam Matorin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gheorghe Vărzaru made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Costel Dorineanu put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of José do Vale. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Costel Dorineanu sped through SAO JOANENSE FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of José do Vale. After 43 minutes, Costel Dorineanu made it 1-5 with a short kick to the right side. SAO JOANENSE FC's José do Vale tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Costel Dorineanu in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José do Vale prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Costel Dorineanu to strike the kick off in the second half. If Narcis Săndulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Vaz in the 58th minute of play forced FC Buzău's goalkeeper Gheorghe Vărzaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wiliam Matorin's late challenge caught a FC Buzău's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wiliam Matorin helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SAO JOANENSE FC booed when FC Buzău was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Costel Dorineanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gheorghe Vărzaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wiliam Matorin in the 68th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Costel Dorineanu took a quick shot and it went in 1-6 without a chance for José do Vale to make any attempt to save it. SAO JOANENSE FC's José do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costel Dorineanu in the 79th minute of play. FC Buzău's Gheorghe Vărzaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Magalhães in the 80th minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Gavril Groza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José do Vale was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-7. In the 87th minute, Wiliam Matorin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of FC Buzău booed when SAO JOANENSE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiliam Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. The FC Buzău players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
