The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gláuber Mattos during the 8th minute. The supporters of CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land booed when CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabrício Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gláuber Mattos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Severino Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aprígio Espinosa in the 19th minute of play. In the 23rd match minute, CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Máximo Pimentel to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Reinaldo Azevedo hit a great ball. Fabrício Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustão Alagoano in the 33rd minute of the match. After 34 played minutes CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE got a freekick which was hit by Dedé de Toledo. 35 minutes into the match, Bento Melo notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Severino Madureira. Severino Madureira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE defense, Máximo Pimentel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Severino Madureira. CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land's Fabrício Marques proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE defense, Máximo Pimentel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Severino Madureira. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, André Rego managed to get in a good position for a shot. CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land's supporters rose to their feet, but André Rego was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severino Madureira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. CASTROMIL FC -Golden Land's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
