In the 8th minute Julio De Leon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matías Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Indiana Jones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Genílson Lucas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Milton Diaz made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Julio De Leon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matías Quirino was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Milton Diaz made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Genílson Lucas sent off a good shot on target. Matías Quirino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julio De Leon's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Matías Quirino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hermes Pinilla went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Indiana Jones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Orlando Ramos hit a great ball. In the 29th minute Ronaldinho Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Milton Diaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Julio De Leon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matías Quirino was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Matías Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermes Pinilla, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermes Pinilla couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute Julio De Leon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matías Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Matías Quirino made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Hermes Pinilla sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio De Leon in the 80th minute of play forced Matanza and Steelers's goalkeeper Matías Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Milton Diaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Indiana Jones, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 82 minutes, Indiana Jones managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Charles Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matías Quirino made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Raul Brandao sent off a good shot on target. Milton Diaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldinho Carneiro in the 88th minute of the match. Indiana Jones sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s Matías Quirino threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Julio De Leon, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Matías Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio De Leon in the 96th minute of play. 98 minutes into the match, Matanza and Steelers's goal looked a bit too open when Hermes Pinilla came free, but Matías Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Matanza and Steelers supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s performance.
