Leandro Coutinho charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leandro Coutinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Wil 1900 booed when Flying Dutch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, FC Wil 1900's Amandus Blattmer tried to score from far away in the 4th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 7thth minute of the game Frederic Kuster who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flying Dutch's Jonas de Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Frederic Kuster notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Flying Dutch's Jonas de Queirós. Jonas de Queirós was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jonas de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederic Kuster in the 15th minute of play. Felippe Cruz's late challenge caught a FC Wil 1900's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felippe Cruz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Flying Dutch's Felippe Cruz got a free kick in the 16th minute. A collision led to Flying Dutch getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Kaká Santana hit a great ball. Frederic Kuster took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonas de Queirós. Jonas de Queirós dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Carlos Schneider showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Paraibano, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 27 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Carlos Schneider had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kaká Santana. After 29 minutes FC Wil 1900's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Leandro Coutinho who took care of the corner kick. Flying Dutch's Leandro Coutinho was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Carlos Schneider in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The audience was convinced that Falko Emennegger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonas de Queirós was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. When FC Wil 1900's Frederic Kuster in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Jonas de Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half FC Wil 1900 were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frederic Kuster made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Flying Dutch's zone, Umberto Romano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonas de Queirós came out of the goal and Umberto Romano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonas de Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frederic Kuster in the 60th minute. With splendid footwork Frederic Kuster arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-5 by the left pole in the game's 67th minute. In the 76thth minute of the game Frederic Kuster who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flying Dutch's Jonas de Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 81 minutes into the game, Amandus Blattmer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Wil 1900's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flying Dutch the free kick. A collision led to FC Wil 1900 getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Amandus Blattmer hit a great ball. After 85 played minutes FC Wil 1900 got a freekick which was hit by Umberto Romano. In the 87th minute, Abelardo Paraibano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The FC Wil 1900 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
