An unexpectedly hard shot by Sabino Valverde in the 29th minute of play forced SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Jo van der Eycken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samuel Esparteiro to make the kick off. Jo van der Eycken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Gaspar in the 57th minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 60th minute of the game. One of SK Gullegem:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Academia Monte Gordo:s goal. In the 62nd minute there was a penalty for Academia Monte Gordo. Flávio Anjos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jo van der Eycken. 3-0. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jo van der Eycken showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
