In the 2nd minute, Ferit Port got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jo van der Eycken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Woltering, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferit Port in the 5th minute of play forced SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Jo van der Eycken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SK Gullegem's zone, David Woltering stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jo van der Eycken came out of the goal and David Woltering tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jo van der Eycken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Woltering in the 16th minute of play. Jo van der Eycken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldemar Scheuch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th match minute, Vorwärts Lübeck was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferit Port to maneuver through the defense. After 20 played minutes SK Gullegem got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Sielis. Folker Witzke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jo van der Eycken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Woltering, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Jo van der Eycken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferit Port in the 25th minute of the match. Rafael Gobeleyns recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jochen Doll was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Ferit Port's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jo van der Eycken was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Jo van der Eycken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferit Port in the 43rd minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Woltering to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Christopher Frans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jochen Doll saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, SK Gullegem's Wart Hollants got a free kick in the 55th minute. A collision led to SK Gullegem getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Gilbert Sielis hit a great ball. Jo van der Eycken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Woltering, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Sylvain Pauwels kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Jo van der Eycken had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Folker Witzke. In the 73rd minute, Rafael Gobeleyns hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jo van der Eycken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Woltering in the 74th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Jo van der Eycken had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Folker Witzke. When Sylvain Pauwels was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 76 minutes had been played. Sylvain Pauwels kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After 78 played minutes, Vorwärts Lübeck's Waldemar Scheuch shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jo van der Eycken came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vorwärts Lübeck reached it. Christopher Frans might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jochen Doll. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christopher Frans ran back to his position shaking his head. Jo van der Eycken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Woltering in the 80th minute of the match. 89 minutes into the match, Vorwärts Lübeck's Waldemar Scheuch sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jo van der Eycken narrowly saved just below the crossbar. David Woltering received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Jo van der Eycken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jo van der Eycken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Woltering in the 94th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Woltering in the 97th minute of play forced SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Jo van der Eycken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SK Gullegem fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vorwärts Lübeck had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
