Spectators: 46 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Frank Costermans started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd match minute, Albirex Niigata FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Khairil Lum to maneuver through the defense. Jo van der Eycken was out of position in the 6 minute of play, and Ali Ramachandran capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ali Ramachandran really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After 11 minutes, Christopher Frans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SK Gullegem and the Albirex Niigata FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Albirex Niigata FC booed when SK Gullegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christopher Frans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jo van der Eycken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afriz Hian in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SK Gullegem's Yelle Van Damme got a free kick in the 15th minute. Afriz Hian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Jo van der Eycken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Ramachandran in the 19th minute of play forced SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Jo van der Eycken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ali Ramachandran received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jo van der Eycken came out and tried to block the shot, but Ali Ramachandran slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 22nd minute. A collision led to SK Gullegem getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Frank Costermans hit a great ball. Gilbert Sielis hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Jo van der Eycken made an important save on a dangerous shot by Famih Swee in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute, Christopher Frans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bakar Hsi charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bakar Hsi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 36th minute, Bakar Hsi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Chuan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christopher Frans, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Dale Lim in the 38th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by SK Gullegem's Soren Kindts. Frank Costermans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Chuan having to interfere. Daniel Chuan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sylvain Pauwels in the 44th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Albirex Niigata FC's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Costermans came free, but Daniel Chuan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Bakar Hsi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Ali Ramachandran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Chuan made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Christopher Frans sent off a good shot on target. Famih Swee's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jo van der Eycken read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Daniel Chuan was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Frank Costermans capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jo van der Eycken prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Afriz Hian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 93 played minutes SK Gullegem got a freekick which was hit by Christopher Frans. In the 94th minute Ali Ramachandran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jo van der Eycken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Albirex Niigata FC had won after a very even match.
