With his leg Jo van der Eycken managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Deportivo Balvanera's Rene Restu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, SK Gullegem's Gilbert Sielis got a free kick in the 8th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Santiago Sosa notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of SK Gullegem's Jo van der Eycken. Jo van der Eycken was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 12 minutes into the match, Santiago Sosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jo van der Eycken. SK Gullegem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Santiago Sosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The shot was stopped by Jo van der Eycken but with some difficulty. Through an outstanding action, after 33 minutes, Jo van der Eycken successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Frank Costermans kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. With a little luck, SK Gullegem's Jo van der Eycken got control of the ball when Omar Fliz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jo van der Eycken made an important save on a dangerous shot by Omar Fliz in the 45th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rene Restu was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Rene Restu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jo van der Eycken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, Rene Restu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jo van der Eycken was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Ramiro Quin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Omar Fliz came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Deportivo Balvanera fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Omar Fliz couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Deportivo Balvanera's Fernan Ignado got control of the ball when Christopher Frans tried to sneak it across the goal line. SK Gullegem's Jo van der Eycken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Sosa in the 63rd minute of play. Jo van der Eycken dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Jo van der Eycken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Restu in the 71st minute of play. Frank Costermans charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frank Costermans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Frank Costermans kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Igor Olo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Igor Olo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Jo van der Eycken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jo van der Eycken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Fliz in the 77th minute of the match. Jo van der Eycken didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Deportivo Balvanera's Santiago Sosa shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 6-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Jo van der Eycken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Restu in the 85th minute of play. Jo van der Eycken stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Omar Fliz's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rene Restu in the 89th minute of play forced SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Jo van der Eycken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
