Quitilipi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SK Gullegem the free kick. The supporters of SK Gullegem booed when Quitilipi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robustiano Clementi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Quitilipi's Urbano Nuñez got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guaberto Cebo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Costermans, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After 12 played minutes Quitilipi got a freekick which was hit by Robustiano Clementi. A collision led to Quitilipi getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Segundo Ixona hit a great ball. Jo van der Eycken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Federico Insúa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Urbano Nuñez took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jo van der Eycken. Jo van der Eycken dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 23 minutes of play, Quitilipi's Urbano Nuñez made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jo van der Eycken was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Christopher Frans got free with Guaberto Cebo in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jo van der Eycken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Nuñez in the 27th minute of the match. After 29 played minutes SK Gullegem got a freekick which was hit by Frank Costermans. In the 31st minute Frank Costermans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guaberto Cebo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Yelle Van Damme fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Gullegem's protests and gave Yelle Van Damme a yellow card for diving instead. Guaberto Cebo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Costermans, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The supporters of Quitilipi booed when SK Gullegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wart Hollants didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Christopher Frans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Gullegem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christopher Frans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Federico Insúa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guaberto Cebo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Costermans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guaberto Cebo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, SK Gullegem's goal looked a bit too open when Robustiano Clementi came free, but Jo van der Eycken reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Federico Insúa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Jo van der Eycken made a huge save. Frank Costermans scored 2-2 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guaberto Cebo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
