After 9 minutes, Rony Peixoto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Poetass FC and the Kerkyra FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 10 played minutes Poetass FC got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho Saldanha. Claudinho Saldanha hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute of the match Dimitris Kaiafas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cássio de Senna showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Kerkyra FC booed when Poetass FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abelardo Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kerkyra FC's Dimitris Giannakidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Azevedo in the 18th minute of play. Cássio de Senna came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Kerkyra FC's Giorgos Maragozis. But to his dismay, Giorgos Maragozis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Cássio de Senna stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marinos Katsiaros's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute Marinos Katsiaros suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Poetass FC's Rony Peixoto got his second yellow card of the match in the 28th minute. The referee ordered Rony Peixoto off the ground. Kerkyra FC made a substitution. Chrisostomos Labrakoglou replaced Marinos Katsiaros. Poetass FC's Cássio de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giorgos Maragozis in the 33rd minute of play. After 34 minutes, Giorgos Maragozis made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Poetass FC's Cássio de Senna tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Kerkyra FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Chrisostomos Labrakoglou hit a great ball. Dimitris Giannakidis made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Claudinho Saldanha sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Claudinho Saldanha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dimitris Giannakidis. That made the score 1-2 in the 43 minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olavo Carioca to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Kyriakos Lavdas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kerkyra FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poetass FC the free kick. 63 minutes into the game, Giorgos Maragozis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Cássio de Senna was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With his leg Cássio de Senna managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when Kerkyra FC's Giorgos Maragozis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Poetass FC's Cássio de Senna proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Poetass FC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Kerkyra FC's zone, Claudinho Saldanha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dimitris Giannakidis came out of the goal and Claudinho Saldanha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cássio de Senna made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Giorgos Maragozis sent off a good shot on target. Dimitris Giannakidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho Saldanha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the game, Apostolos Fragoulakis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kerkyra FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poetass FC the free kick. In the 94th match minute, Kerkyra FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Apostolos Fragoulakis to maneuver through the defense. Noel Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The Kerkyra FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
