With his leg Matthew Edwards managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Abutres 2003 FDP's Murillo Bittencourt fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Abutres 2003 FDP's Conrado Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerome Groom in the 39th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fausto Pirani to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Murillo Bittencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abutres 2003 FDP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Murillo Bittencourt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
