In the 16th minute, Zula Scislowicz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dobromir Fafinski took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hayri İlksen. Hayri İlksen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Purple Shadows getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Zbyszek Bronkala hit a great ball. Hayri İlksen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zula Scislowicz in the 33rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Samsunspor's Semih Dursunali got a free kick in the 41st minute. If Dobromir Fafinski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ahmet Gökalp Deveci's late challenge caught a Purple Shadows's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ahmet Gökalp Deveci helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute, Ahmet Gökalp Deveci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 48 minutes, Pawel Pieprz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Purple Shadows's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pawel Pieprz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

53 minutes into the match, Samsunspor's goal looked a bit too open when Zula Scislowicz came free, but Hayri İlksen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boguslaw Lamczyk in the 55th minute of play forced Samsunspor's goalkeeper Hayri İlksen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hayri İlksen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zula Scislowicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zula Scislowicz in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hayri İlksen saved Samsunspor from getting behind. In the 75th match minute, Purple Shadows was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zbyszek Bronkala to maneuver through the defense. After 81 played minutes Samsunspor got a freekick which was hit by Cemal Erdurmus. Hayri İlksen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zbyszek Bronkala in the 84th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Samsunspor's goal looked a bit too open when Zula Scislowicz came free, but Hayri İlksen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Purple Shadows's Dobromir Fafinski slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hayri İlksen. That made the score 0-5 after 92 minutes of play. Hayri İlksen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zula Scislowicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. After a rather tough play, Samsunspor's Semih Dursunali got a free kick in the 97th minute.
