Granicerul's Narcis Coman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Lekubegi in the 5th minute of play. In the 10th match minute, Granicerul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niculae Petre to maneuver through the defense. Claudio Quentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narcis Coman having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Grigore Drăgoescu during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Granicerul's Grigore Drăgoescu got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 37th minute, Sergio Lekubegi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Narcis Coman was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristian Chițes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute Sergio Lekubegi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narcis Coman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aurelio Quilino during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 61 played minutes Encarale a la gordita got a freekick which was hit by Aurelio Quilino. When Nicolae Luncanu fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Granicerul's protests and gave Nicolae Luncanu a yellow card for diving instead. A throw-in in the 72nd minute of the game was made by Niculae Petre with Dorel Albescu as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The supporters of Encarale a la gordita booed when Granicerul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolae Luncanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, Saturnino Padro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Narcis Coman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudio Quentin went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After 82 played minutes Encarale a la gordita got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Lekubegi. In the 84th match minute, Encarale a la gordita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramon Berenguer to maneuver through the defense. When Claudio Quentin came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Encarale a la gordita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudio Quentin couldn't finish the play. Claudio Quentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narcis Coman having to interfere. The Encarale a la gordita supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Encarale a la gordita would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
