Kenny Forsberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Narcis Coman made a huge save. In the 26th minute, Kenny Forsberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With 28 minutes on the clock, Dinu Băbescu commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. The goalkeeper, Narcis Coman, was totally fooled by Degerfors IF's Dan Grönberg, who 29 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Granicerul's Narcis Coman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Granicerul from getting a goal against them. Stellan Runberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Dorel Albescu fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Granicerul's protests and gave Dorel Albescu a yellow card for diving instead. After 76 played minutes Granicerul got a freekick which was hit by Dorel Albescu. After some careless play in the Granicerul defense, Claes Stenman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Narcis Coman. The Granicerul fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Narcis Coman should have stopped the shot. 84 minutes into the game, Nicolae Stan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Granicerul's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Degerfors IF the free kick. Nicolae Stan kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Emanuel Cărtărescu charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
